What We Do
Canadian Adventure Charters (CAC) is a Canadian-based initiative in the planning and early development stage, focused on building a practical, scalable platform for expedition operations, scientific access, and remote marine support. The concept is straightforward: create a capable working ice ready vessel that can operate in challenging environments—particularly in the Canadian North—while supporting a mix of research, logistics, documentation, and carefully structured expedition travel. This is not being developed as a conventional tourism company, but as a hybrid operational model designed to serve multiple purposes in regions where access, safety, and adaptability are essential.
A platform built in phases
Our first priority is to secure and deploy a suitable expedition vessel that can function as a flexible, multi-use platform. This initial phase is intended to establish real-world operations–allowing us to test logistics, activate partnerships, and refine how the platform is used in practice. Over time, and as resources allow, we plan to expand capabilities incrementally. This is planned to include the integration of remote sensing tools, submersible technologies, aerial systems, and media production capacity–each added based on operational need, not assumption.
We are also exploring a secondary parallel concept: initially it will be a small land-based operational hub in Bonavista Bay. This remains in early planning, but it is a part of our immediate execution, reflecting a potential future direction for a convenient home base for our first ship as well as easier logistics
Groundwork already in place
While the operational platform is still being established, significant groundwork has already been completed.
Over several years, we have focused on identifying the right tools, building relationships, and assembling a committed network of professionals. This includes experienced captains, scientists, digital and IT specialists, marketing and business development professionals, as well as advisors across marine operations and strategy.
We have also developed working relationships with cinematographers and media teams, with the intention of documenting both the environments we operate in and the work being carried out.
In parallel, we have established early connections with governmental bodies, northern stakeholders, and private-sector operators who have expressed interest in utilizing our services once operational. These discussions are ongoing, but they reflect a clear need for capable platforms in remote environments. Our work in northern regions includes long-standing relationships in Innu areas, where we recognize the importance of operating with respect, continuity, and local collaboration.
A Canadian focus
This initiative is rooted in Canada, with a particular focus on the Arctic and North Atlantic regions. As environmental conditions continue to change, there is an increasing need for platforms that can support research, monitoring, and responsible access.
Our goal is to contribute to that space in a practical way–by building something that works on the water first, and grows from there.
What we are—and what we are not
Canadian Adventure Charters is not being developed as a traditional expedition cruise company. It is a working platform first. Expedition travel will be part of the model, but it will be structured around the capabilities of the vessel and guided by experienced leadership—not mass tourism. The emphasis remains on utility, flexibility, and responsible operation in remote environments. Building with purpose, as this is a disciplined build.
We are not starting with scale–we are starting with function. Establish the foundation, prove the model, and expand where it makes sense. Canadian Adventure Charters is being shaped by people with real-world experience in marine operations, northern logistics, and field conditions. Our assembled amount of years in the maritime industry tallies well over 80 years. The intent is not to overstate what exists today, but to build something that can stand up to the environments in which it will operate. Together our team has hindsight and foresight.
If you are interested in following the development of this platform–or contributing to it–we welcome the conversation.
